Another Promising Performance From Tiny Rebel – Race Report

Tiny Rebel put in another promising effort on just his third race, finishing sixth against some classy opposition at Southwell racecourse on Saturday 14th December.

Having been drawn in stall 9, jockey Edward Greatrex got Tiny Rebel out well, before settling him towards the rear of the field. As they approached the final bend, the jockey asked him for his effort and he duly obliged, making some good headway to overtake three rivals. With the front four pulling well clear, he eventually finished sixth, pulling clear of the other three runners in the process.

After the race, jockey Edward Greatrex gave us his summary:

“It was a pleasing performance from Tiny Rebel, and I think he showed plenty of promise. I wanted to get him in and get him relaxed, and we actually followed the eventual winner, but just got done for a bit of toe turning in.”

We caught up with Trainer Paul Attwater after the weekend, who reported:

“I was really pleased with his performance on Saturday. He’s come out of the race well and trotted up sound this morning. It was encouraging to see the way he stayed on in the final furlong, and I think that gives us plenty to get excited about moving forward.”

With that race being Tiny’s third race, he will now receive his handicap mark, which will allow him to race against similar-level competitors in handicap races. We look forward to finding out what mark the handicapper will give him, before trainer Paul Attwater starts planning for his next race!
