Brosay is a highly promising three-year-old gelding who won twice as a two-year-old, including a Class 2 race at Goodwood on just his third start. Having raced in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, the plan remains for Brosay to return to Royal Ascot this year, giving his owners a fantastic day out in the process.
Having finished fifth on debut at the Curragh, he improved on his second start to finish a close third at Dundalk. It didn’t take long for him to get his head in front though, winning on just his third start in a warm race at Goodwood. Sent off as 7/4 favourite, he raced prominently in the early stages, before hitting the front at the midway stage. From that point onwards he was always in front, staying on powerfully to fend off the late challenge from Gold Medallist despite hanging under pressure. He has since won again, staying on powerfully to win at Southwell in December 2024. In his most recent race, Brosay finished a close runner-up in a Class 2 race at Sandown, proving he still retains all the class needed to run at the major festivals this flat season.
He has a striking pedigree, having been sired by multiple Group winner Tasleet. He holds an impressive record since being sent to stud, with his progeny including Royal Ascot Group 1 winner Bradsell and French Group 3 winner American Sonja.
Brosay looks to have an extremely exciting future ahead of him, and with a good win in a tough race already on his CV, we’re sure to have plenty of big days out with him over the next few years.
