Farceur Du Large won the two biggest races in the military racing calendar last season, having romped to victory in the Grand Military Gold Cup in January, before following up with another authoritative display in the Royal Artillery Gold Cup in February. We’re hopeful he can retain both trophies in the 24/25 season, with both races being targeted again by master trainer Jamie Snowden.Â
He put in a near faultless performance to win the Grand Military Gold Cup, jumping beautifully throughout and powering clear in the final stages, giving Jamie Snowden his first victory in the race as a trainer, having previously won the race four times as a jockey.
The following month he put in an equally impressive display, powering clear in the final stages to land the Royal Artillery Gold Cup. He has since finished an admirable fifth in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter, before returning to the same venue to finish fourth on his final run of the season.
After his Gold Cup triumphs, he also finished fifth in the Midlands Grand National in another big performance, before another good effort to finish fourth at Uttoxeter, staying on in typically strong fashion.Â
He made a pleasing return to action at Newbury on his seasonal reappearance, plugging on well to finish seventh in a competitive race in conditions less than ideal for him. He will no doubt come on for the run and fingers crossed he will be heading back to Sandown in January 2025.
