Farceur Du Large won the two biggest races in the military racing calendar last season, having romped to victory in the Grand Military Gold Cup in January, before following up with another authoritative display in the Royal Artillery Gold Cup in February. Having just failed to retain his Grand Military Gold Cup (finishing runner-up), he still retains plenty of ability and has given his owners plenty of great days out at the races.
He put in a near faultless performance to win the Grand Military Gold Cup in 2024, jumping beautifully throughout and powering clear in the final stages, giving Jamie Snowden his first victory in the race as a trainer, having previously won the race four times as a jockey.
The following month he put in an equally impressive display, powering clear in the final stages to land the Royal Artillery Gold Cup. After his Gold Cup triumphs, he also finished fifth in the Midlands Grand National in another big performance, before another good effort to finish fourth at Uttoxeter, staying on in typically strong fashion.
He made a pleasing return to action at Newbury on his seasonal reappearance, plugging on well to finish seventh in a competitive race in conditions less than ideal for him. He just failed to get past the winner Fil d’Ariane in the 2025 renewal of the Grand Military Gold Cup, and failed to retain his Royal Artillery Gold Cup Trophy just three weeks later.
