Following several impressive displays, Brosay didn’t show his usual spark in the 1:33 at Doncaster on Friday 24th October, finishing tenth.
Up against eleven rivals, Brosay was sent off at 12/1. Ridden by his usual partner Harry Davies, he was in touch with the leaders on the far side of the group and was ridden two furlongs out. He could never get on terms and weakened around one furlong from home, with Fine Interview going on to win the race.
After the race, jockey Harry Davies gave us his verdict on the performance:
“He jumped well into a nice position behind the leaders and relaxed nicely. We could never really find a rhythm on the ground unfortunately, it is definitely heavy. He was changing leads the whole race and couldn’t get comfortable.”
Assistant Trainer Charlie Pike reported after the race:
“Little bit of a disappointing run, Harry felt that he never really handled the ground at all. He’s won on heavy before in weaker company, it’s going to find him out in these bigger races. We’ll freshen him up now and aim to head to Doncaster on the 11th November for the listed race.”
We look forward to seeing Brosay back out again in the near future, where he is sure to bounce back from an unusual lesser effort.
Shares in Brosay are now SOLD OUT.
