Brosay Finishes Runner-Up On Return To Action At Kempton – Race Report

Brosay put in a fantastic effort to finish runner-up at Kempton on Monday evening, on his first run for 80 days following a short break.

Having been sent off a 15/2 shot for the race, the market suggested he should have a good each-way chance in the race, and that proved to be the case on this occasion. Having broken well out of the stalls, jockey Eddie Greatrex got him in a good position, sitting just behind the leaders. Once Eddie asked him for his effort, he duly obliged and made good headway on the rail, finishing strongly but just failing to catch the winner Carbine Harvester, who finished ¾ length ahead of him.

After the race, jockey Eddie Greatrex gave us his verdict on the performance:

“I was really pleased with his performance there – he travelled great and felt like the winner the whole way down the straight, but I just couldn’t find enough to get past the winner. He’s done extremely well there and I actually think he’s getting faster, so hopefully all roads lead to Sandown now!”

Trainer Paul Attwater reported the following morning:

“We’re delighted with his performance last night, I really thought he was going to get up in the dying stages but he just failed to catch the winner. He’s fit and well this morning and trotted out sound, and I’m looking forward to seeing him at Kempton later this month.”

With that excellent effort under his belt, trainer Paul Attwater is now targeting him for a return to the turf, with a possible race later this month at Sandown as the next target for him.
