From Me To You Strikes At Wolverhampton – Race Report

Having shown plenty of promise in his work at home and on several occasions at the racecourse, albeit mixed with some disappointing performances, From Me To You deservedly got his head in front at Wolverhampton on Friday 23rd October. Sean Levey gave him an excellent ride on a wet and windy evening, much to the delight of his owners who had braved the conditions and were rewarded for their efforts.

A well-supported 100/30 second favourite, From Me To You broke sharply from stall four, something that hasn’t always been the case in his career, and settled into a prominent position just behind the leaders. He travelled strongly throughout and always looked likely to play a major role in the finish. One of the last to come under pressure, he responded well when Sean asked him to pick up, quickening nicely through a gap down the centre of the track. He finished strongly to score by a length and a quarter, getting the better of the 6/5 favourite.

After the race, jockey Sean Levey gave us his verdict on the performance:

“He was very straightforward today. He jumped nicely and travelled really well. The trip is not a problem at all and seven furlongs wouldn’t be a problem either I would say. He is in the right frame of mind now and hopefully he can keep progressing.”

Trainer Richard Hannon spoke to owners after the race:

“Well done everybody, you thoroughly deserve that. He never looked like getting beaten today and has gone up massively in my estimations with the way he went through with his effort. He is a very dangerous horse with an awful lot of ability, and there should be plenty more to come from him. He is the perfect horse for the syndicate, being very sound and capable of providing plenty of racing. Well done!”

From Me To You has always shown plenty of potential as an attractive son of Persian Force, and it was great to see him deservedly get off the mark. We expect there is plenty more to come from him now he has tasted success, with lots to look forward to over the winter and into his three-year-old campaign next year.
