Once again, we have another great day of racing to look forward to, with the pick of the action coming at Newbury, where there is a feast of Group and Listed action to enjoy alongside some fiercely competitive handicap contests. It looks a difficult card, however, and punters may find better opportunities at the other meetings.
14:45 Bangor-On-Dee – DREAM’S KA (3/1 Generally)
This does not look the strongest contest on paper and it may prove wise to side with the runner bringing the best recent form to the table, namely DREAM’S KA. He took a step forward when finishing a solid two-length second over a slightly longer trip at Fakenham behind a reliable rival, and a repeat of that performance, or any further progress, which is certainly possible, would give him a major chance in this field off just 2lb higher.
With everything appearing to be in his favour, he looks capable of going very close. The Skelton team excel with runners in races of this nature and do well at the North Wales venue. Odds of 3/1 look generous.
17:27 Doncaster – NOBLE RAIDER (4/5 Generally)
This looks a very good opportunity for Amo Racing’s Persian Force colt NOBLE RAIDER to get off the mark. Second on debut at Wolverhampton, he improved when finishing a solid third in Class 2 company at Newmarket earlier this month, with Persian Spring back in fifth, who has since won nicely in a strong novice at York’s Dante meeting.
He sets a clear standard on form and it is likely to take an above average newcomer to lower his colours. With that valuable experience behind him, he looks capable of getting off the mark for a trainer who has an excellent record with two year olds at this venue.
