18:00 Chelmsford – HELLO LUNA (11/1 Generally Each Way)
A few in here have solid claims, but at the prices it could be worth taking a chance on the filly HELLO LUNA. She isn’t the most reliable, but she ran well when second at Lingfield over this trip, finishing just a length and a quarter behind a progressive, in-form rival after dropping in trip and grade. If she can reproduce that level from a tricky draw, she should be competitive. At double figure odds she’s worth a small each-way play.
20:30 Chelmsford – VOLENDAM (9/4 Generally)
Tony Carroll’s four-year-old filly VOLENDAM has a consistent profile and has produced plenty of solid efforts in defeat. She is still a maiden, but she has been knocking on the door and this looks a good opportunity to gain her first win. She has finished second on her last two starts, pulling well clear of the remainder, and looks a winner waiting to happen.
Shades Of May won here last time but still has a bit to find on the figures, so the main threat could be Charlatan. The booking of Hollie Doyle is a positive, and Volendam appears the type to reward her supporters sooner rather than later.
