Redbud Sixteen Makes Debut At Nottingham – Race Report

Redbud Sixteen made a pleasing debut at Nottingham on Thursday 8th August, showing plenty of promise before weakening in the final stages.

Having been drawn widest in stall 11, jockey Tyler Heard had little choice but to settle Redbud towards the rear of the field, and it didn’t take long for her to settle nicely into the race. Once the pace began to quicken, Tyler asked her for her effort, but she was too far back in a race that it paid to be up with the pace – the first four home were the front four throughout the race. This was Redbud’s first experience on a racecourse, so we have no doubt she will have learned plenty for the experience and should be seen to better effect next time out.

After the race, jockey Tyler Heard gave us his verdict on the performance:

“She was a little bit green out of the stalls, but we were held in there a long time, which wasn’t ideal. She managed to settle in towards the rear of the field and travelled nicely throughout the majority of the race. Once I started to wind her up, she travelled right to the line and just didn’t quite have that turn of foot that some of her rivals had. I expect she will improve once stepping up in trip, but that was a pleasing debut and she should have a nice future ahead of her.”

Trainer Paul Attwater reported the following morning:

“I was very pleased with her performance last night, and I’m sure she will have learned plenty from the experience. We’ll just give her a few days now to recover and get back into her routine, before hopefully finding another race for her in the next few weeks.”

With this run and experience now under her belt, we can’t wait to watch Redbud Sixteen progress – we’re confident she’ll give her owners plenty more exciting days out!
