Trio Of RC Horses In Action Over The Weekend – Race Reports

We had a trio of our horses in action over the weekend, with Dunstan and Brosay in action on Friday and Dayzee in the Winter Oaks on Saturday.

Dunstan put in a rare underwhelming performance at Southwell, finishing sixth of ten. A slow start didn’t help him, but after initially looking like he was going to pick up in the home straight, he failed to make any serious headway and had to settle for sixth on this occasion. Fingers crossed the handicapper drops his mark slightly and we get to see Dunstan back to his best in the near future.

Brosay had his third race in less than three weeks and this one was perhaps one too many for him, finishing sixth of nine at Newcastle. Stepped up in class after his excellent performances in his previous couple of races, Brosay started well in his race but was never better than midfield, and just failed to pick up when some of the others kicked on.

Having finished third in the race last year, Dayzee returned to the Winter Oaks at Lingfield but failed to match her efforts from 12 months ago, finishing 9th of 12 this time around. She could count herself unlucky to finish where she did this year, having been denied a clear run at a crucial point of the race.

Trainer Paul Attwater has reported that all three horses have come out of their races well and although none of the three managed to run to their full potential, he’s optimistic they will all be seen to better effect next time out.
