How to Get to Market Rasen Racecourse

Arriving by Car

Market Rasen Racecourse is located on the eastern side of Market Rasen alongside the A631. It can be accessed using the M1, A1 and A46 and is well signposted on the approach to the town.

Travelling from the A1: Take the exit signposted for Newark, Lincoln A46 and Newark North Gate railway station. Follow the A46 towards Lincoln and continue towards Market Rasen.

Travelling from the M1: Leave the motorway at Junction 24 and follow the A453 towards Nottingham. Continue along the A52 before joining the A46 towards Newark and Lincoln.

Travelling from the north via the M18: Join the M180 towards Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Humberside Airport. Leave for the A15 towards Lincoln before joining the A631 towards Market Rasen.

Ample free parking is available in the public car parks. Preferential parking spaces are also provided near the entrances for Blue Badge holders on a first-come, first-served basis.

Arriving by Train

Market Rasen has its own railway station, located approximately one mile from the racecourse. The walk from the station is estimated to take around 25 minutes, and taxis may also be available.

Tattersalls Enclosure

The Tattersalls Enclosure is situated at the heart of the racecourse and provides access to viewing areas around the parade ring, pre-parade ring and winners’ enclosure.

Visitors can also enjoy a range of food and drink facilities, which may include the Exacta Bar, Centenary Bar, Antonio’s Pizzeria and other external outlets available on the day.

Lawn Enclosure

The Lawn Enclosure offers a relaxed and family-friendly race-day experience. It provides views of the racing and parade ring, along with access to the children’s playground and the Victor Lucas Bar.

Light picnics may be brought into the Lawn Enclosure, although they must not include glass, metal or alcohol. Additional family entertainment may also be available during selected family and feature racedays.

What to Wear

Market Rasen Racecourse does not normally operate a strict dress code. Visitors are encouraged to dress in whatever makes them feel comfortable and confident throughout their day.
