What to Wear?

Bangor-on-Dee racegoers, you will be relieved that there is no set dress code at this racecourse. It simply has seasons.

Summer

The summer months are when most racegoers love to get dressed up. However, as stated, unlike a lot of courses, this one does not have a strict dress code in its public enclosures. The advice we would give to racegoers is there is a lot of walking involved across the grass and uneven grounds, so practical footwear and clothing are always recommended.

Winter

It is a time of year when it is all about being comfy and keeping warm. Keep in mind the time of year and dress for the elements. Some ideas if you are struggling could be long boots, wellies, winter jackets, earmuffs, and hats that cover your ears.

Hospitality and restaurants

If you plan to dine in one of the hospitality enclosures or restaurants, please note that dress codes apply in these areas. No denim or trainers are permitted to be worn in these areas.

Fancy Dress

If you attend Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse as part of a celebration such as a hen do, or a stag party, your party may consider arriving in fancy dress. If this is the case, please contact the box office, who will be able to advise.

If you are still unsure about race day attire, you may find some tips in our dedicated “What to Wear to the Races” guide, which you can find by following this link.

Food & Drink

BYO – Bring Your Own

Racegoers are permitted to bring their own picnics (and yes, that is including alcohol) to the Open Course, alongside BBQs. These are, however, prohibited in the Paddock Enclosure.

Food Court

There is lovely food on offer at the racecourse, thanks to its new addition of a food court. Enjoy traditional fish and chips, grilled dishes, pies, and hot drinks.

Hospitality

If you have chosen a hospitality package, there is restaurant dining if you wish to enjoy a little peace and quiet or have a private dinner with your party.
