How to Get to Ffos Las Racecourse?

There are a number of fantastic transport links to Ffos Las Racecourse for racegoers. Below, we have included how you get here by car, bus, taxi, train, race day bus and by air.

By Car

Enter into your SatNav and follow directions to SA17 4DE – the racecourse is situated just off the A484 between Llanelli and Carmarthen. It is clearly signposted on approach. It is also worth noting that car parking is free at Ffos Las Racecourse. 

• • East – The racecourse is not far from J48 on the M4

• • West – The racecourse is not far from the A40 to Carmarthen 

By Raceday Bus

There will be a free bus service running to and from the racecourse on race days. It will operate from Llanelli train stations with dedicated pick-up points and return times. It is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis – there is no ability to pre-book.

By Train

Kidwelly, Pembrey, and Burry Port (4.5 miles) are the closest train stations to Ffos Las Racecourse. Llanelli (6 miles) and Carmarthen (12 miles) are also nearby. 

By Taxi

By Public Bus

Cymru operates a Monday-Saturday bus service from Llanelli to Carmarthen (No 197) it has stops in Trimsaran, Carway, Ponthenri and Meinciau. The timetables can be found at the firstgroup.com website.

By Air

Helicopter landings can be accommodated upon request – advance notice is required.

Pembrey Airport is just three miles from Ffos Las.

Where to Get Tickets?

Tickets can be purchased online directly from the Ffos Las ticket website, as well as at the gate on the day. Under 18s go free. General Admission, Complete Raceday Package, Hospitality and Group Packages are available. Coaches are welcome, and there is dedicated coach parking available.

*Please note that no food and drink can be brought into the racecourse – bag searches are carried out, and any items found will be asked to be consumed or disposed of before entering.

Accessibility

All pathways on the racecourse are suitable for wheelchair users, there is also an additional accessible entrance, allowing easier access for wheelchair users, pushchairs and visitors with working dogs.

There are dedicated viewing areas, accessible W/Cs and lifts. Personal Assistants will receive free admission when accompanying a paying guest with accessible needs. Service animals are permitted to the racecourse, including guide dogs, hearing dogs and medical alert animals. No other dogs are permitted on the racecourse.

Featuring great views of the racecourse and the home of Blinkers Bar, being in the grandstand puts guests right at the heart of the action. Also found here are bookmakers and food and drink stands.

What to Wear?

There is no set dress code at Ffos Las Racecourse; however, it is advised that racegoers often choose to adopt a smarter style. 

The racecourse recommends smart jeans or tailored shorts with a collared shirt for gentlemen. At Ffos Las, being comfortable and yourself is key, we would just recommend dressing for the weather! Sporting team shirts, rugby or football, ripped or torn jeans, trainers and offensive fancy dress are not permitted.

Food & Drink

There is plenty of choice of food and drink available at Ffos Las, something for every kind of tastebuds to enjoy. 

A range of pop-up food and drink stands selling hot food, and snacks will be located around the racecourse.

There is also the Blinkers Bar located in the main Grandstand that offers hot and cold food and drinks.

If you are enjoying the fine dining hospitality services, there is Bridles Restaurant. Enjoy an overflowing menu of Welsh produce, a welcome drink and some VIP treatment, all while getting the best views of the racecourse and action.
