How to Get to Aintree Racecourse?

 

Arrive by Car 

Leaving from the South. Head onto the M6 and exit at J21A to join the M62 West. Come off the M62 on J6 and join the M57, where you follow and find the signs placed for the race. 

Leaving from the North. Head onto the M6 and exit at J26 to join the M58, Where you follow and find the signs for the races.

Leaving from Mersey Tunnels. Find and follow all signs to Preston until you are on the A59. Follow on until you see the Signs for the races.

 

Arrive by Train

There are trains every 15 minutes with MerseyRail trains between Liverpool Central and Aintree Station. The racecourse is a quick 5-minute walk from the train station. 

Arrive by Bus 

Bus services 300,310 and 345 can reach Aintree to and from Liverpool.

 

Arrive By Air

The nearest airport to Aintree Racecourse is Liverpool John Lennon Airport, then 20 minutes from the airport by car. 

Manchester Airport is the 2nd nearest airport, with a 45-minute drive to Aintree Racecourse.

 

Where To Get Tickets?

If you haven’t already booked tickets online, tickets are still available at the gates of entry. To find out the prices of the day you wish to attend, click online to see what prices are available for general admission, Platinum Lounge, or the Princess Royal seats and gallery. 

Aintree Racecourse is now cashless. This still means cash can be used; however, it must be brought with you as there are no longer cash machines on course to withdraw. 

Parking is free at the Racecourse, and there is quick access to the entrance to buy tickets. 

Aintree has outstanding on-site accessibility for disabled guests with easy access to get the best practicable changes possible with wider doors, wheelchair-viewing balconies and many more to assist in a great race day. 

 

Aintree Racecourse Enclosures

Hospitality Enclosure

Aintree restaurant packages are available on the racecourse to book. There are three options for Hospitality to choose from:

  • Classic Experience
  • Premier Experience 
  • VIP Experience 

The restaurant includes a fantastic view of the racecourse and guarantees a memorable day to entertain family, friends, and clients. Enjoy the private bar and delicious food, and there is a Racecourse TV available and chances to see the parade ring and get into the heart of the action. 

 

Grandstand Enclosure

The Grandstand Vip Boxes provide a glamourous day to treat guests to the ultimate experience at Aintree racecourse, with a private balcony and entertaining exclusive luxuries. What to Wear?

Aintree has no dress code expected for entry, so you can be yourself. The racecourse, however, encourages you to come dressed your best. You’ll feel included with the bright colours on the day as many find the racecourse a day to stand out and look great. 

Fancy dress is also acceptable and great fun for the occasion. This cannot be inappropriate or offensive, e.g. deemed vulgar or derogatory, as entry will be refused. Sportswear is perfectly acceptable to wear, however, sports colours or sports kits should be avoided.

Food & Drink

If you don’t want to book private experiences to dine at, there is still every option of bars and food available around Aintree racecourse. During the Grand National, there are street food units available to everyone, with hog roast, carvery, pizza, noodles and traditional burgers all available at The food stands and outlets, including a mobile Costa Coffee unit.

To enjoy a few more treats, the Moet & Chandon Champagne Bar has a thriving selection of sandwiches, champagne, wine, bottled drinks, Costa coffee and a hot dish of the day. Or head towards the first floor in The Princess Royal Suite to enjoy the seafood, deli sandwiches, soft drinks and champagne lounge.
