Letmelivemylife Puts In Good Effort On Return To Action – Race Report 19/08/24

Letmelivemylive made a pleasing return to action at Windsor on Monday evening, with a solid effort in his first race for over six months.

Sent off as a 33/1 outsider of the field, Lemmy started well, with jockey Ethan Jones getting him into a good rhythm in the early stages. Once asked for her effort three furlongs out, he made steady headway out wide, but he failed to close the gap on those at the front and did eventually tire during the final stages to finish ninth. That was still an excellent effort under the circumstances though, as he was only 5¾ lengths behind the winner and only one length behind the favourite Miss Bodacious.

Jockey Ethan Jones said after the race:

“He’s done nothing wrong and I was pleased with his performance, especially considering it was his first race back from a break. He jumped out well and we got into a nice rhythm, and we tried to push on once we hit the three-furlong mark. He did start to make some headway but once we hit the two-furlong mark he backed off, so I gave him a reminder of what his job is, and he went on again. In the final stages, he just got a bit tired but he’ll have blown the cobwebs away and should definitely come on for the run.”

The morning after the race, assistant trainer Charlie Pike reported:

“He has eaten up this morning and trotted up sound, and seems perfectly happy in himself. I was pleased with his performance last night, and I’m confident he will now come on for the run. After speaking with Paul, we’re keen to get him back in action quickly, so we’ll sit down and look at the racing calendar to try and find a suitable race for him.”

Considering it was Lemmy’s first run for over six months, the team were pleased with his performance and are confident he will come on for the run. We’re already looking forward to seeing him back in action, which will hopefully be in the next few weeks.
