Emma is a highly respected trainer based at the historic Bonita Racing Stables near Marlborough, Wiltshire. Emma and her husband Barry relocated there in 2016, and since then they have extensively redeveloped the yard to create an ideal environment for training racehorses. Bonita Stables has a rich history, having previously been home to Sir Gordon Richards, Bob Turnell, and Peter Makin. Today it combines top-class facilities with acres of grass gallops, a newly laid all-weather gallop, a round sand gallop, and excellent schooling areas, making it a superb place for both horses and owners.
Emma began her career as an assistant trainer, before taking out her own training licence at the age of 25 in 1998. She has since built a reputation for her meticulous, hands-on approach and commitment to providing the best environment for her horses. Her training methods have produced top-class performers, including the much-loved Paisley Park, winner of the Grade 1 Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival; the Classic Chase winning mare My Silver Lining and graded winners De Rasher Counter and Hang In There.
Emma and her team aim to provide every horse with the care, facilities, and management they need to thrive, focusing on both performance on the track and well-being in the yard.
