Magic Runner Strikes Again with Convincing Wolverhampton Win – Race Report

Magic Runner doubled her career tally with another determined Wolverhampton victory on Friday 16th January.

Sent off at 16/1 in a field of nine, Magic Runner broke well from stall six as Taryn Langley settled her into midfield. Racing keenly in behind the leaders, she made good headway along the back straight before being eased into a strong position just under three furlongs out to mount her challenge down the centre of the track.Magic Runner struck the front a little over a furlong from home and, as ever, showed a typically gritty attitude to repel the sustained challenge of the grey Francesi. She responded well under pressure, keeping on strongly to score by a length, and once in front never looked likely to be passed.

After the race, jockey Taryn Langley gave us her verdict on the performance:

“They have gone a decent pace so it has allowed me to sit in fourth. I’ve been able to sneak in behind the favourite round the bend and she is really gutsy, she wasn’t going to let the other horse pass her.”

Trainer Ruth Carr reported the following morning :

“Magic Runner is fine after the race, she is in the field with her friends. Absolutely delighted with the win last night, it was a great ride by Taryn. She won’t have a penalty for winning that apprentice race so all being well she can go again next Friday.”

This was another excellent performance from Magic Runner at her favourite track, as she registered the second win of her career. We look forward to seeing her back in action soon as she bids for further success and, hopefully, another memorable day at the races for her owners.
