Bred to excel, he is by Persian Force, who was trained by Richard Hannon and was an exceptional juvenile, bursting onto the scene with a commanding four-and-a-half-length triumph in the Brocklesby Stakes, before going on to win the Group 2 July Stakes readily by a length and a half. Highly consistent at the highest level, Persian Force also placed in multiple Group 1 contests and now stands as one of Europe’s most exciting young sires.
On the dam’s side, From Me To You boasts serious depth. He is out of Aunt Anny, an unraced daughter of Exceed And Excel, one of the most prolific sires of sharp, high-class juveniles in recent years. This is a family steeped in quality, with his second dam, Simonetta, having been a stakes performer, and the lineage producing elite winners such as Marhaba Ya Sanafi (Group 1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains) and Intense Focus (Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes).
He has shown plenty of promise despite his clear inexperience at Newbury, Leicester and Kempton, shaping well in competitive races from difficult draws. He was then tried in the ultra-competitive Newbury Super Sprint under top weight, where he was unable to get involved, before delivering an impressive and eye-catching performance when returned to calmer waters at Lingfield. Despite finding himself in a difficult position, he finished strongly to take fourth, beaten just a length and a half by the winner. With further progress likely, he looks capable of winning plenty of races.
“He looks very nice. The stallion was trained here and won the Brocklesby, he was a very early sort and lasted all year. He wasn’t the biggest of two year olds. From Me To You is very big and he hasn’t got much growing to do at all. He is progressing with each run and we haven’t seen the best of him yet.” Trainer Richard Hannon.
