Lucky Luna is a stunning grey filly with an exciting pedigree to go with her striking looks. She is in training with esteemed flat trainer Richard Hannon in Marlborough (Wiltshire), where she has been pleasing Richard with her work and is on course for an exciting debut season in 2025.
The two-year-old is by Lucky Vega, who was a top-class two-year-old himself, notably winning the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh. He was a highly consistent performer, finishing in the top three in all but two of his races, including placing in a classic, having finished third in the 2,000 Guineas on his first start as a three-year-old. He also finished runner-up in the Middle Park Stakes and the St James’s Palace Stakes, in a career that saw him accumulate over £300,000 in prize money.
Lucky Luna already has some notable entries, having been entered for:
- 19th July 2025 – £250,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint (Newbury)
- 23rd August 2025 – £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes (Newmarket – July Course)
- 4th October 2025 – £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes (Newmarket)
“She’s a really sweet filly with a lovely pedigree and I’ve no doubt she’s going to give her owners plenty of fun days out. She’s got a good temperament she’s nice and straightforward to train, and with a couple of entries in the sales races at Newmarket already, she looks set for an exciting year ahead.” Trainer Richard Hannon.
Lucky Luna is our first horse with the elite trainer Richard Hannon, and with some big-race entries already in the book, we cannot wait to see how she progresses throughout 2025 and onwards!
