Redbud Sixteen is a stunning three-year-old filly, who is part-owned by 2016 US Masters winner Danny Willett. The name Redbud Sixteen was chose by Danny, as he birdied the sixteenth hole (Redbud) in his final round to effectively win the 2016 US Masters.
She has a solid pedigree, having been sired by Galiway, who was a Listed winner and Group 3 runner-up in his six-race career. Since being sent to stud, he has sired the likes of Sealiway (two-time Group 1 winner), Vauban (three-time Grade 1 hurdle winner) and Sunway (Group 1 winner). Her dam Tristesse was a Listed winner in France, so there is plenty of black type in Redbud Sixteen’s pedigree, and the Newlands team are confident she could have the potential to win some big races herself.
“She’s a lovely filly, with a likeable attitude. She’s nice and straightforward in her work and I think she’ll be an exciting horse to be a part of in the coming years.” Trainer Paul Attwater.
Redbud Sixteen will be trained by Paul Attwater at Newlands Stables in Upper Lambourn, who is looking forward to seeing her out on the racecourse in the near future. With her sire producing multiple top-level offspring, we’re optimistic Redbud Sixteen could be a future star herself.
