Rule 4 Calculator

Work out your winnings after a Rule 4 deduction for a withdrawn horse.

- Deduction applied
- Total return
- Lost to Rule 4

How to use the Rule 4 Calculator

  • Rule 4 reduces the winnings on your bet when a horse is withdrawn too late for the market to be re-formed. Your stake is always returned in full.
  • Enter your stake and odds, then the deduction your bookmaker announced, in pence in the pound.
  • Don’t know the rate yet? Choose “Estimate from odds” and enter the withdrawn horse’s price: the calculator uses the standard Rule 4 table. Several deductions add up, capped at 90p.
