Karthon was sired by New Bay, the Prix du Jockey Club-winning son of Dubawi, hailing from a stallion line that continues to produce high-quality, improving middle-distance horses. New Bay has quickly made his mark at stud, siring Classic winners like Saffron Beach and Bay Bridge, and is known for passing on class, scope, and a strong finishing kick.
Karthon’s dam, Fantasia, was a top-level performer in her own right — a dual Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed mare who was highly regarded on both sides of the Atlantic. He’s also a half-brother to Fairbanks and Berlin Tango, who have both shown their quality on the track.
