Rory’s Gold is an promising addition to Racing Club, having showed plenty of promise in his three runs to date. Trained by Paul Attwater at Newlands Stables in Upper Lambourn, we’re excited to watch Rory’s Gold progress in 2025, having been given an initial handicap mark of 67.
The exciting three-year-old gelding has a strong pedigree, having been sired by Group 1 winner Havana Gold, who won five times from just eleven races between 6f – 1m 2f. Havana Gold has produced plenty of stars since being sent to stud, including Havana Grey (Group 1 winner), El Caballo (Group 2 winner) and Tabdeed (Group 3 winner) to name just a few. His Dam’s sire was Verglas, who was a group 3 winner and finished runner-up in the Group 1 Irish 2,000 Guineas too, so there’s plenty of black type in his pedigree!
His three runs to date have suggested he should be more than capable of winning some nice races, with the pick of his form coming in his most recent run, when finishing runner-up at Lingfield in early January. With those three runs under his belt and having been given an initial handicap mark of 67, trainer Paul Attwater is excited to get him back out on the racecourse again soon.
“He’s a lovely horse, and I’m looking forward to watching him progress throughout the year. I expect we’ll step him up in trip on the all-weather, before hitting the turf, where I think we’ll see the best of him.” Trainer Paul Attwater.
Rory’s Gold is a horse with an exciting future ahead of him, and having shown plenty of promise on the all-weather, we can’t wait to see him on the turf once the turf season starts!
