By the prolific Starspangledbanner, Stepanov is bred to combine quality with versatility. A champion sprinter and dual Group 1 winner, Starspangledbanner has established himself as one of Europe’s leading stallions, producing high-level performers across a range of distances and surfaces.
His dam, Shining Bright, is an unraced daughter of the legendary Galileo and a full sister to the exceptional stayer Changingoftheguard, winner of the Group 1 Sydney Cup, the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 3 Chester Vase, giving Stepanov an outstanding blend of class and stamina.
The pedigree is packed with elite performers, including his second dam, Lady Lara, a six-time winner, including several Group and Listed contests.
