Love You Millions Makes Promising Debut At Brighton – Race Report

Love You Millions made a promising debut at Brighton on Thursday, finishing third but showing plenty of speed and professionalism to suggest we should be excited about what the future holds for her.

Sent off as the 20/1 rank outsider of the trio lining up, Love You Millions broke awkwardly out of the stalls and reared as they opened, but quickly got into her stride and pulled clear of the other two runners. She showed plenty of pace to pull away from the other two runners and it wasn’t until just before the final furlong that her rivals managed to catch up with her. Once they had got to her, they quickened clear and jockey William Cox gave her an easy time of things in the final stages.

After the race, jockey William Cox gave us his verdict on the performance:

“That was a really pleasing debut from her there. She was good in the stalls, but breaking out was a bit of a mess for all of the horses. She was very quick into her stride and she relaxed into a good rhythm, and when the other two quickened away from her, I just let her come back at her own pace in the final stages.”

Trainer Paul Attwater reported the following morning:

“I’m pleased to report she’s trotted out sound this morning and is none the worse for her exertions yesterday, which is great news. I was over the moon with her performance yesterday, she actually surprised me with how she travelled through the race – I think they clocked her at 44mph at one stage going down the hill!”

With that racecourse experience now under her belt, we can’t wait to see Love You Millions progress and she looks set for an exciting flat turf season ahead!
