Horse Updates 09/04/26

Wendigo is very well and schooled nicely on Wednesday morning, so was declared for the Grade 1 Mildmay Novices’ Chase at Aintree on Friday 10th April. He will only run if the ground is deemed suitable.

Handlethekettle is very well, his leg is fine and the latest scan went well. He will start back in light work very soon and be aimed at Chepstow’s valuable Silver Trophy in October.

A Path To Ronda has come out of the Fairyhouse race well and will now enjoy a well-earned break after a fantastic season, which included two wins and placings in good Listed and Grade 2 events at Haydock and Warwick.

Jukebox King ran very well for second at Wincanton on Wednesday 1st and has come out of the race well. The Thorndale Farm team are looking at races at Bangor and Ludlow for his final run of the season.

Legendary Luke was not declared for Aintree, as Jamie Snowden believes there are more suitable options with good prize money available. He is considering a race at Haydock on the 15th and Perth on the 22nd.

Pigeon Forge produced an excellent performance for second at Plumpton, jumping nicely and staying on very well. She has come out of the race in good order.

Brodie’s Boy is still suffering from a swollen joint and will be seen by the vet again this week.

Blackwaterfoot is working well and Charlie is looking ahead for some targets on the turf for him. He has been doing some stalls work in preparation for his return to action.

Unknown Journey is fine and working well at home. There aren’t many suitable races around for him at the moment so we will be patient and wait for the right opportunity.

Love Always is progressing and maturing well. She has had a little cough, which is normal for this time of year so hasn’t had her work stepped up any further. She has enjoyed being out in the sunshine on the grass.

Victory Max is now at the end of his break and looks very well. Harry Eustace is really pleased with him. He has matured, strengthened up and looks great in his coat. He will now build up to make his debut.

Lucky Luna is moving well and is into some faster work now. All being well, she should be able to make her debut at Newbury on the 17th.

From Me To You is taking his work very well and is in a good place mentally. He could make his debut on the 17th at Newbury.

Redbud Sixteen has come out of her race in good order and should benefit greatly from that return to the track. She will return to the racecourse soon, possibly at Lingfield on the 20th, and should be much sharper and improve from her season reappearance.

Bosh Soldier was balloted out of the Kempton race and now has an entry at Lingfield on the 14th.

Lord d’Or is progressing well and Andrew Balding is very pleased with him, suggesting he moves well and has a touch of class. His target is a maiden over a mile at Newbury on the 18th.

Karthon is very fresh and well. He is progressing nicely and looks likely to have an all-weather run before going jumping on good ground.

Magic Runner will now enjoy a break after a busy and successful winter, before she is found some suitable races on the turf.
