Wendigo has had a fantastic season, highlighted by his Grade 2 John Francome victory at Ayr, and he was a little unlucky at Cheltenham. He will now enjoy a summer break before returning next season, with plans aimed towards races such as the Hennessey and Grand National, likely following a prep run in the Old Roan or the intermediate race at Carlisle.
Handlethekettle enjoyed a prolific spell last summer and is now back cantering as he builds up for another campaign later this summer and into early autumn. His main autumn target will be the Silver Trophy at Chepstow.
A Path To Ronda has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles and picking up valuable black type in both a Listed event and a Grade 2. She will now enjoy a summer break before returning for a campaign over novice fences and top-class mares’ hurdles next season.
Jukebox King has had a good season over hurdles and is enjoying his summer holiday in the field with his friends and will be relaxing until around early July. We can look forward to a novice chasing campaign where we should see him at his best.
Legendary Luke has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles as well as being placed in a Grade 2 and a Class 3 under a penalty. He has now been wound down for his summer break and will return to light exercise in July, with the plan to go novice chasing in the autumn.
Pigeon Forge is in good order at home and has possible targets at Hereford on the 12th and Stratford on the 17th.
Brodie’s Boy is back working well and trainer Tony Carroll will start looking at possible races for him later this month.
Blackwaterfoot couldn’t run at Windsor due to the ground but has an option at Newmarket on Friday 15th for his seasonal debut.
Unknown Journey was found to have a slight overreach after his race at Southwell on Wednesday. This will require a short period of rest and care but isn’t a major issue.
Love Always continues to progress and has had her worked stepped up, with a view to make her debut around the middle of June.
Victory Max unfortunately has a minor setback, with some slight thickening in a near fore tendon consistent with juvenile tendonitis, which is normal for two year olds. There is no damage, but two to three weeks of rest will be required before returning to work.
Lucky Luna has been moving well in hand and enjoying the saltwater treadmill. She has had a new medication to ease her knee issue and has responded very well.
From Me To You has come out of the Kempton race in good order. He is booked in to be gelded on Monday 11th May. This should improve his concentration and help him relax more at the races to allow him to show the level of ability that the team at Herridge have seen at home.
Redbud Sixteen is making good progress and Charlie is very pleased with her. Hopefully we get some rain to soften the ground so she can make her second start of the season.
Bosh Soldier was entered in the Tattersalls Online Sale earlier this week but unfortunately did not sell. Discussions are now ongoing regarding retraining and providing her with a nice future outside of racing. Rest assured, all necessary due diligence will take place before she leaves Tony Carroll’s care.
Lord d’Or has now sold out and is back working well at home. Andrew Balding is pleased with him and is looking at some suitable races for him to start his season.
Karthon made a pleasing comeback run at Kempton, finishing his race off nicely for fifth and has come out of it in good order.
Magic Runner is now enjoying a break after a busy and successful winter, before trainer Ruth Carr finds her some suitable races on the turf.
