Wendigo is by the champion sire, Great Pretender, who has produced multiple Grade 1 winners, Greaneteen, Benie Des Dieux, and Ptit Zig among other stars. Wendigo is out of a 4 time winning mare by the wonderful Juddmonte sire, Martaline. He is a half-brother to a talented ‘Black Type’ performer Sideralis who has been placed in Grade 2 and Grade 3 races in France.
Farceur Du Large is an 8 year old gelding by Turgeon out of a winning French dam, from a good staying pedigree. This three-time winning gelding looks tailor made for the Grand Military Gold cup as he won a decent staying handicap chase at Punchestown last season off a mark of 130. He was 3rd in a Listed bumper on his racecourse debut, and although he never won a bumper he was placed in another. He won over hurdles too, but it was only really when he was sent over fences did he really begin to excel. He won a novice chase at Fairyhouse over 2m5, and then won a competitive class 2 handicap off a mark of 130, and was put up to 136. He has largely struggled since, but he has been running in the Irish Grand National, the Midlands National, and the Galway Chase, so he has been highly tried. His mark has therefore slipped to 129, and he therefore meets the criteria for the Grand Military, the most prestigious race in the armed forces racing calendar.
Letmelivemylife is a five-year-old gelding who is trained by Barry Brennan at our very own yard, Newlands, in Upper Lambourn. Tom Malone purchased him at Tattersalls and we are very excited for the season ahead with him. He has won 5 races at two, three and five years old and has won over £29,000 in prize money. He is by the sire Oasis Dream, who has produced multiple group winners including Midday, Muhaarar, and Native Trail amongst other exceptional horses. He has been running well over 6 & 7 furlongs on the all-weather so the plan is to start him off running in similar kinds of races. “Letmelivemylife is a pleasure to have at the yard and a very likeable horse. Greycee Bell is an attractive two-year-old filly that Tom Malone purchased for us at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale 2023, and will be trained by Barry Brennan from our yard Newlands in Upper Lambourn. Greycee Bell is by the sire Havana Grey that has produced horses such as Vandeek (Group 1 Winner) and Jasour (Group 2 Winner). Greycee Bell is developing nicely and she has shown a willing attitude towards her training at home and is just a few weeks off from her racecourse debut. We should have plenty to look forward to with this exciting filly!
