Horse Updates 05/06/26

Wendigo has had a fantastic season, highlighted by his Grade 2 John Francome victory at Ayr, and he was a little unlucky at Cheltenham. He will now enjoy a summer break before returning next season, with plans aimed towards races such as the Hennessey and Grand National, likely following a prep run in the Old Roan or the intermediate race at Carlisle.

Handlethekettle enjoyed a prolific spell last summer and is now back cantering as he builds up for another campaign later this summer and into early autumn. His main autumn target will be the Silver Trophy at Chepstow. He is trotting for another couple of weeks before being reassessed.

A Path To Ronda has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles and picking up valuable black type in both a Listed event and a Grade 2. She will now enjoy a summer break before returning for a campaign over novice fences and top-class mares’ hurdles next season.

Jukebox King has had a good season over hurdles and is enjoying his summer holiday in the field with his friends and will be relaxing until around early July. We can look forward to a novice chasing campaign where we should see him at his best.

Legendary Luke has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles as well as being placed in a Grade 2 and a Class 3 under a penalty. He has now been wound down for his summer break and will return to light exercise in July, with the plan to go novice chasing in the autumn.

Pigeon Forge has come out of her Uttoxeter victory well. Emma feels that a break through June will do her good and then she can run through until autumn before having a proper winter break.

Brodie’s Boy has come out of his Windsor race in good order. Tony was pleased with how he travelled into the race and believes some softer ground will help.

Blackwaterfoot is ready to return to the track but is waiting for some suitable conditions. He has a possible option at Kempton on the 10th.

Unknown Journey disappointed at Brighton on the 29th May. he has come out of the race well and there are no signs of any issues.

Love Always continues to progress and Ollie hopes to start working her on the grass to build up towards her debut.

Victory Max has recovered well from his minor setback. Harry is happy with him, he is back trotting for 2-3 weeks and will then be reassessed before having his work stepped up.

Lucky Luna has come out of her Chester race well and has several upcoming entries on the 8th, 9th and 11th.

From Me To You is recovering well from his gelding operation and the team are pleased with him. He will have a handicap mark soon and the team will be looking at some entries for him in the coming weeks.

Redbud Sixteen is ready to return to the track and Charlie is targeting a confined handicap race at Salisbury on the 14th, which looks a suitable option.

Lord d’Or made an excellent reappearance at York, finishing a close second in a good race on the 15th May. He is back catering, moving nicely and has an exciting season ahead.

Karthon made a pleasing comeback run at Kempton, finishing his race off nicely for fifth and has come out of it in good order. He has an entry at Kempton on the 10th.

Magic Runner is now enjoying a break after a busy and successful winter, before trainer Ruth Carr finds her some suitable races on the turf.

Denby’s Dream was disappointing at Kempton on Wednesday 20th May, following two good second place finishes. She has come out of the race in good order and we can draw a line through that effort. She is back working well and has a couple of good options approaching at Bath (13th) and Ffos Las (17th).
