Wendigo has slotted back into is cantering routine and the Folly House team are all very happy with him as Cheltenham approaches.
Handlethekettle is very well, his leg is fine and the latest scan went well. He will start back in work in April and be aimed at Chepstow’s valuable Silver Trophy in October.
A Path To Ronda is working well and declared to run at Kelso on Saturday 28th February. As the top rated mare in the race, it looks a nice step towards her Grade 1 target in Ireland.
Jukebox King has received a handicap mark of 110. Kim and Mat have him entered in two races at Market Rasen on Tuesday 3rd March and are leaning towards the handicap option at this stage.
Legendary Luke has enjoyed an easy week splashing in the river and hacking along the bridle paths, and is now back doing some light canter work. He will be eased back into his regular cantering routine this week and assess how he feels before making any plans.
Pigeon Forge has been jumping nicely at home and is ready to make her hurdling debut when we get some better ground. Emma has her entered at Southwell (2nd March) and Market Rasen (3rd March).
Brodie’s Boy has had a wind operation, which Tony expects will help him finish his races stronger. He is back home and will recover for a couple of weeks.
Blackwaterfoot is fresh, happy and enjoying his cantering as he builds up to the new flat turf season.
Unknown Journey has come out of his Lingfield race in good order. It was an excellent effort and a first win can’t be too far away!
Love You Millions is comfortable and walking well. The vet is happy with her and she has been returned to Danebury this week. After a discussion with the vet and trainer Charlie Pike, we have decided it is in her best interest to retire her.
Lucky Luna has been reassessed and is now back under saddle. The vet is pleased with her progress and, if she continues on this trajectory, Richard and the team can begin to step up her work and start preparing her for a spring return, possibly at Newbury’s April meeting.
From Me To You is impressing Richard and the team with his work. Richard believes he is strong and knowledgeable enough to make his debut early in the season. This week he received two more exciting big race entries: the Weatherbys Super Sprint Stakes at Newbury in July, worth £135,218 to the winner, and the Weatherbys Scientific £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes at Doncaster, worth £147,540 to the winner.
Rory’s Gold is still cantering nicely and the pace of his work is gradually being increased. The vet has advised he should continue in this routine for now.
Redbud Sixteen did a strong canter on the grass and everybody was impressed. She is taking her work well and it is hoped she can make her seasonal debut in April.
Bosh Soldier improved to finish seventh at Kempton, everybody was pleased and she is expected to continue progressing as she matures.
Lord d’Or is progressing well and Andrew Balding is very pleased with him. His work is being gradually increased and he is on track to run at the start of the turf season.
Karthon continues to progress well as his fitness improves. Emma is thinking about an all-weather run in April before he begins his hurdling career on better ground at the end of the spring and into the summer.
Magic Runner is very well and has been enjoying her work at home. The next suitable option for her is a race at Wolverhampton over 1m 1½f for horses rated 46–65 on the 10th March.
