Wendigo has had a fantastic season, highlighted by his Grade 2 John Francome victory at Ayr, and he was a little unlucky at Cheltenham. He is now enjoying a summer break before returning next season, with plans aimed towards races such as the Hennessey and Grand National, likely following a prep run in the Old Roan or the intermediate race at Carlisle.
Handlethekettle is in excellent form and looks a picture. He continues to please in his work at home and schooled impressively again this week. He will step up his faster work during July, with the aim of being ready to make his seasonal return in August or early September.
A Path To Ronda has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles and picking up valuable black type in both a Listed event and a Grade 2. She is now enjoying a summer break before returning for a campaign over novice fences and top-class mares’ hurdles next season.
Jukebox King has had a good season over hurdles and is enjoying his summer holiday in the field with his friends and will be relaxing until around early July. We can look forward to a novice chasing campaign where we should see him at his best.
Legendary Luke has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles as well as being placed in a Grade 2 and a Class 3 under a penalty. He has now been wound down for his summer break and will return to light exercise in July, with the plan to go novice chasing in the autumn.
Pigeon Forge is enjoying a short break this month, with Emma planning to bring her back into work next month, with the plan for her to run through until autumn before having a proper winter break.
Brodie’s Boy has come out of his Newbury race in good order. Tony was very pleased with the performance and felt he would have finished closer with a better draw. Tony is optimistic he’ll be winning soon enough and has him entered at Kempton on Wednesday 8th July.
Blackwaterfoot has come out of his Kempton race in good order and is set to run in the charity race at Ascot on Friday 10th July – you can find out more information on this HERE.
Love Always continues to progress and Ollie is planning to increase her workload over the next couple of weeks. He’s hopeful she could be ready to make her debut in late July/early August.
Victory Max looks very well and is cantering nicely. We will have more of an idea when he will be ready for his debut in the next few weeks, but Harry Eustace hopes he will have 2-4 runs this year.
Lucky Luna delivered a superb performance to win at Salisbury and has come out of the race well. She was declared a non-runner at Newbury on the 2nd July due to the quick ground and has an entry at the same venue on Thursday 9th.
From Me To You continues to impress at home, and trainer Richard Hannon has emphasised he would like him to run in the Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday, 18th July, all being well.
Redbud Sixteen unfortunately couldn’t land the hat-trick at Doncaster on Friday 3rd July, but will now have an easy time of things and freshen up for her next race.
Lord d’Or ran another fine race for a head second at Thirsk on Wednesday 1st July. He has come out of the race in good order and Andrew Balding will look for a suitable opportunity in around three weeks time.
Karthon suffered a slight setback with an injury to his near fore fetlock joint, and the decision has been made to retire him from racing. We will be looking to find him a forever home in the coming weeks.
Magic Runner is now back into some work after her break. Ruth is hoping to have her ready to return to the racecourse at the start of August.
Denby’s Dream won in fine style at Brighton on Tuesday 30th June and has come out of the race well. She has an entry at Chepstow on Wednesday 8th July.
