Wendigo has had a fantastic season, highlighted by his Grade 2 John Francome victory at Ayr, and he was a little unlucky at Cheltenham. He is now enjoying a summer break before returning next season, with plans aimed towards races such as the Hennessey and Grand National, likely following a prep run in the Old Roan or the intermediate race at Carlisle.
Handlethekettle enjoyed a prolific spell last summer and is now back cantering up the hill. He will have his work gradually progressed as he builds towards his main target, which will be the Silver Trophy at Chepstow. Jamie has reported that he is bigger and stronger than before, and is looking great.
A Path To Ronda has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles and picking up valuable black type in both a Listed event and a Grade 2. She is now enjoying a summer break before returning for a campaign over novice fences and top-class mares’ hurdles next season.
Jukebox King has had a good season over hurdles and is enjoying his summer holiday in the field with his friends and will be relaxing until around early July. We can look forward to a novice chasing campaign where we should see him at his best.
Legendary Luke has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles as well as being placed in a Grade 2 and a Class 3 under a penalty. He has now been wound down for his summer break and will return to light exercise in July, with the plan to go novice chasing in the autumn.
Pigeon Forge is enjoying a short break this month, with Emma planning to bring her back into work next month, with the plan for her to run through until autumn before having a proper winter break.
Brodie’s Boy has come out of his Newbury race in good order. Tony was very pleased with the performance and felt he would have finished closer with a better draw. Tony is optimistic he’ll be winning soon enough.
Blackwaterfoot has come out of his Kempton race in good order and is set to run in the charity race at Ascot on Friday 10th July – you can find out more information on this HERE.
Love Always continues to progress and Ollie is planning to increase her workload over the next couple of weeks. He’s hopeful she could be ready to make her debut in late July/early August.
Victory Max has recovered well from his minor setback. Harry is happy with him, he looks great and is now back cantering.
Lucky Luna delivered a superb performance to win at Salisbury and has come out of the race well. She has an entry to run at Newbury on Thursday 2nd July, although there may be other options for her too.
From Me To You continues to impress at home, and trainer Richard Hannon has emphasised he would like him to run in the Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday, 18th July, all being well.
Redbud Sixteen put in another impressive performance to win at Newbury on Tuesday and is set to be entered to run at Doncaster on Friday 3rd July, where she will bid for a third successive victory!
Lord d’Or remains in good form at home and has two upcoming entries – one at Ffos Las on Tuesday 30th June and one at Thirsk on Wednesday 1st July.
Karthon suffered a slight setback with an injury to his near fore fetlock joint, and the decision has been made to retire him from racing. We will be looking to find him a forever home in the coming weeks.
Magic Runner is now back into some work after her break. Ruth is hoping to have her ready to return to the racecourse at the start of August.
Denby’s Dream is in good order and all being well, she should be running at Windsor on Tuesday 30th June.
