Wendigo has had a fantastic season, highlighted by his Grade 2 John Francome victory at Ayr, and he was a little unlucky at Cheltenham. He will now enjoy a summer break before returning next season, with plans aimed towards races such as the Hennessey and Grand National, likely following a prep run in the Old Roan or the intermediate race at Carlisle.
Handlethekettle enjoyed a prolific spell last summer and is now back cantering as he builds up for another campaign later this summer and into early autumn. His main autumn target will be the Silver Trophy at Chepstow. He is trotting for another couple of weeks before being reassessed.
A Path To Ronda has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles and picking up valuable black type in both a Listed event and a Grade 2. She will now enjoy a summer break before returning for a campaign over novice fences and top-class mares’ hurdles next season.
Jukebox King has had a good season over hurdles and is enjoying his summer holiday in the field with his friends and will be relaxing until around early July. We can look forward to a novice chasing campaign where we should see him at his best.
Legendary Luke has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles as well as being placed in a Grade 2 and a Class 3 under a penalty. He has now been wound down for his summer break and will return to light exercise in July, with the plan to go novice chasing in the autumn.
Pigeon Forge is in good order at home and we have been waiting for a little bit of rain to take the firm out of the ground. She has an entry at Uttoxeter on Sunday 24th May.
Brodie’s Boy is back working well and Tony Carroll is pleased with him and looking for some suitable races, one of which could be at Windsor on the 1st June.
Blackwaterfoot is ready to return to the track but is waiting for some suitable conditions. He has an upcoming option at Bath on Tuesday 26th.
Unknown Journey was found to have a slight overreach after his last race at Southwell but has recovered well and Tony is considering Brighton on the 29th May for him.
Love Always continues to progress and has had her worked stepped up, with a view to make her debut around the middle of June.
Victory Max unfortunately has a minor setback, with some slight thickening in a near fore tendon consistent with juvenile tendonitis, which is normal for two year olds. He is halfway through his walking exercise scheme, is progressing well, and benefiting from the time off.
Lucky Luna has been examined by the BHA vet who deemed her fit and ready to run. She is declared to run at Salisbury on Saturday 23rd in the third race at 6:45.
From Me To You has undergone a routine castration operation and is recovering well while relaxing at home. He will now be given time to recover before returning to light work in around 3 to 4 weeks.This should improve his concentration and help him relax more at the races to allow him to show the level of ability that the team at Herridge have seen in his work.
Redbud Sixteen is ready to return to the track but is waiting for some suitable conditions. She has upcoming options on both turf and all-weather.
Lord d’Or made an excellent reappearance at York, finishing a close second in a good race on the 15th May. He is a little sore afterwards but is being regularly assessed and is having an easy time of things to recover from this first run for a while.
Karthon made a pleasing comeback run at Kempton, finishing his race off nicely for fifth and has come out of it in good order.
Magic Runner is now enjoying a break after a busy and successful winter, before trainer Ruth Carr finds her some suitable races on the turf.
Denby’s Dream was disappointing at Kempton on Wednesday 20th May, following two good second place finishes. She has come out of the race in good order and we can draw a line through that effort.
