Wendigo has had a fantastic season, highlighted by his Grade 2 John Francome victory at Ayr, and he was a little unlucky at Cheltenham. He will now enjoy a summer break before returning next season, with plans aimed towards races such as the Hennessey and Grand National, likely following a prep run in the Old Roan or the intermediate race at Carlisle.
Handlethekettle enjoyed a prolific spell last summer and is now back cantering up the hill. He will have his work gradually progressed as he builds towards his main target, which will be the Silver Trophy at Chepstow. Jamie is pleased to have him back in the team.
A Path To Ronda has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles and picking up valuable black type in both a Listed event and a Grade 2. She will now enjoy a summer break before returning for a campaign over novice fences and top-class mares’ hurdles next season.
Jukebox King has had a good season over hurdles and is enjoying his summer holiday in the field with his friends and will be relaxing until around early July. We can look forward to a novice chasing campaign where we should see him at his best.
Legendary Luke has had a great season, winning two novice hurdles as well as being placed in a Grade 2 and a Class 3 under a penalty. He has now been wound down for his summer break and will return to light exercise in July, with the plan to go novice chasing in the autumn.
Pigeon Forge has come out of her Uttoxeter victory well. Emma feels that a break through June will do her good and then she can run through until autumn before having a proper winter break.
Brodie’s Boy has come out of his Windsor race in good order. Tony was pleased with how he travelled into the race and believes he will benefit from the run. He is entered at Newbury on the 23rd.
Blackwaterfoot has come out of his Kempton race in good order and will now look for some suitable races on his preferred turf surface.
Unknown Journey disappointed at Brighton on the 29th May. He has come out of the race well and there are no signs of any issues. The decision has been taken to retire him and he will be retrained and found a nice new home.
Love Always continues to progress and Ollie hopes to start working her on the grass to build up towards her debut.
Victory Max has recovered well from his minor setback. Harry is happy with him, he looks great and is now back cantering.
Lucky Luna delivered a superb performance to win at Salisbury and has come out of the race well. She has several upcoming entries.
From Me To You has recovered well from his gelding operation and did a nice piece of faster work in front of his owners on Thursday morning. He has been pleasing everyone with his work and has a possible engagement at Brighton on the 22nd.
Redbud Sixteen was a dominant winner at Salisbury and has come out of the race well. She is entered at Newbury on the 23rd.
Lord d’Or made an excellent reappearance at York, finishing a close second in a good race on the 15th May. He worked very nicely during the week and the team are pleased with him and will be looking at some entries soon.
Karthon again shaped well at Kempton for fourth, but didn’t quite see out the trip. He has come out of the race in good order.
Magic Runner is now back into some work after her break. Ruth is hoping to have her ready to return to the racecourse at the start of August.
Denby’s Dream She was unlucky in running at Bath on the 13th June but still ran a very creditable race to finish seventh. With a clearer passage, she would have finished much closer. She has come out of the race well and should have some entries to choose from in the near future.
